Our farm

Rooted in care, growing for change.

Wicton Farm is more than just a place, it’s a way of thinking, living, and farming. We are committed to working in partnership with nature to produce real food that heals people, animals, soil, and planet. Our values of regeneration, fairness, and honesty guide every decision we make.

Our Vision

To grow food that supports people, respects animals, supports farmers, and works in harmony with nature. At Wicton Farm, we believe that food should be more than just fuel, it should be a force for good. Our vision is to build a farming system that produces healthy, trustworthy food while creating real, lasting value for everyone it touches. That means treating animals with dignity, empowering farmers through fair work and shared purpose, enriching the soil we depend on, and reconnecting people to the land and to one another.

We’re working toward a world where the act of eating supports something bigger, a future where farming helps nature thrive, strengthens communities, and reflects the very best of what humans and animals can do together. It’s about building trust, between land, food, and people and doing so with honesty, transparency, and hope.

The wild cow way

Farming in partnership with nature and our cows.

At the heart of Wicton Farm is a simple but powerful idea, let cows be cows. Our herd is 100% grass-fed, organically raised, and allowed to live naturally, with their horns intact and instincts respected. We call them “wild cows” not because they’re wild in temperament, but because we don’t force them to fit into an industrial system, they live as cows are meant to.

This philosophy shapes everything we do. Our cows graze freely, move at their own pace, and are treated as sentient beings, not production units. Their health and happiness come first, and in return, they give us wholesome, nutrient-rich milk that reflects the land they graze on.

Our farming methods follow the same values. We farm regeneratively, working with the rhythms of nature to build healthy soil, support biodiversity, and protect the wider environment. That means:

  • No-dig growing in our veg garden

  • Composting all manure and reducing tractor use

  • 45 acres of agroforestry

  • Wildlife zones, pollinator strips, and natural hedgerows

  • 100% renewable energy from our own solar panels

Every action we take is rooted in care, for animals, people, and the Earth. It’s slower, gentler, and more honest. But we believe that’s how real food should be grown.

The team

People who believe in better.

Behind Wicton Farm is a group of people who believe that farming can be a powerful force for good. We’re not just here to grow food, we’re here to build something regenerative, fair, and deeply human. Every member of our team, from full-time farmers to seasonal WWOOFers and apprentices, shares a commitment to kindness, honesty, and doing things the right way even when it’s the hard way.

We believe in real relationships, with each other, with the animals, with the land. That means working with care, valuing every role, and creating a farm culture rooted in trust, growth, and shared purpose. Whether we’re milking cows, planting seeds, leading tours, or making cheese, we do it with intention, and a genuine love for what this farm stands for.

Ethics & sustainability

We’re here for the long haul.

At Wicton Farm, sustainability isn’t a trend, it’s the foundation of everything we do. We believe that ethical farming means caring for the whole system, soil, animals, people, and future generations. It’s not about cutting corners or doing what’s easiest, it’s about doing what’s right, even when no one’s watching.

We run the farm entirely on 100% renewable energy, generated by our own solar panels. Our aim is to be as close to single-use plastic free as possible. We compost all our manure, reduce machinery use wherever we can, and use closed-loop systems that return goodness to the soil and minimise waste. From no-dig growing to rotational grazing and biodiversity zones, every choice we make is about giving more back than we take.

But sustainability doesn’t stop with the land. We are building a business that is not only environmentally sound but also ethically and financially sustainable for the long haul. That means paying fair wages, investing in people, and creating a safe and empowering workplace where everyone feels part of something bigger than themselves.

We believe a better food system is possible, and that farms like ours can help lead the way. It’s slower. It’s more human. But it’s also more hopeful. And we’re proud to be doing our bit.
